Honest review

Hi Lyle, i hope this review is perceived as constructive. On the technical side: the audios are poor, you could use better sounds or even record yourself for a better feel. The audio with bass notes is the worst because the sounds you picked don’t work well together. There is also a folder with audio and then another labelled “audio corrected”. Why not just post the correct version? If there’s a reason for that I missed it, but surely there’s a way to make it simpler.

As for the etudes themselves sure they are in bebop language but they feel more like a one chorus solo than an etude, there’s no specific tools for improvisation being studied, focused/targeted or explained and i feel no difference learning from this or from transcribing a solo, which is kind of your selling point.

Hoping this helps, best regards

Gonçalo

It's a good learning tool. I haven't looked the whole thing over yet. So based on that I gave it a 4

It seems like valuable knowledge to have under your fingers
